Jessie Matthews is a term full professor of English and associate director of composition at George Mason University. She earned her PhD in English from The George Washington University in 2005 and has been teaching composition and literature online since 2006.
Since January 2019, Matthews has been the online course redesign Faculty Fellow for George Mason’s Stearns Center for Teaching and Learning.
Matthews also co-designed and co-facilitated the first discipline-specific (composition) Teaching Online: Practices and Strategies (TOPS) nine-week training course.
In 2012, Matthews was awarded the first Distance Education Faculty Outstanding Teaching Award.
